He knew the best locations to catch the different types of fish we were looking for. We started off the day by bait fishing. Everyone in our group caught multiple flounders and had a great time doing so. We then moved on to fishing for Lingcod which was our primary target. My boyfriend caught a Lingcod that was 35” and nearly 20 pounds! It was awesome! I would highly recommend Captain Dale and the Ruby D to anyone looking for a fishing charter. We will definitely be back again for another trip!”

My son and I had Ling Cod fishing with Captain Dale on Ruby D last Sunday! It was unforgettable experience with my son and Captain Dale. We caught two big Ling Cod(36" and 42") within 1.5 hours, but had to release 42" one back to the water as it is too big to keep it. We also had 3-4 flounders(sand dab). Thanks a lot for Dale's kind and professional guide and assistance!! I am planning to make another fishing trip with my parents and wife when salmon season is coming soon. Me and my boyfriend found Captain Dale through Carl of Fish Finders charters, and couldn't have had a better experience! It was our first time charter fishing and Dale made us feel extremely comfortable and walked us through everything we needed to know. Even though the Ling cod fishing is slow right now, Dale took us to the best spots and we managed to land a keeper Lingcod! Also caught flounder and shiner perch that we used as bait. Catching shiner perch is a blast and Dale let us do that for as long as we wanted to. He also drove us around to different booies to look for sea lions and seals, which was very cool.
Fishing aside, Dale was just a great guy. He is very personable and shared many interesting stories about his life with us. Very passionate about fishing and genuinely wanted us to catch fish and have a great time. He went above and beyond when he offered to filet and freeze our fish at his home and transport it to us before we left Seattle on Friday. We are from across the country and wouldn't have been able to enjoy this catch without Dale's kindness and generosity.
If we ever come back to Seattle, we will definitely be calling Dale again to go on another trip. This is a MUST for anyone looking for a great experience on the water in Seattle.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time fishing with Captain Dale on the Ruby D! Captain Dale was very kind and knowledgeable. Dale was such an amazing captain! My mother, boyfriend and myself went out with Dale on 3/17/16 and had a blast! Not only did we catch some delicious fish, but we were able to witness whales due to Dales wonderful eye AND a seal that stole a fish right off our line! I would recommend going out with Dale and I know we will definitely be back out to take this trip again with him! Thank you Dale for an amazing time!

My husband and our three daughters (ages 11, 9, and 3) headed out for a 4-hour excursion with Captain Dale. My husband had fished before, but this was a whole new experience for the kids and for me! As you can imagine with 3 young ones, safety has to come 1st so I greatly appreciated Dale's safety talk at the very beginning...plenty of life jackets in all sizes (including for our 3-year old peanut), what to do in an emergency, etc. The boat had ample room off the back for all of us to be out there fishing at one time, as well as a clean, comfortable, heated indoor area.
Once settled, we headed out in the sound where we caught about a dozen flounder (there were restrictions on salmon that week). Dale was super patient and great with the kids...answered their many questions and quick to help with a tangled line. At one point, we spotted some Orcas off in the distance. Dale gave us the option to head over for some whale watching which we took him up on...it was amazing! After that, it was back to fishing for the remainder of the morning. I will always remember the looks on my kids' faces when they reeled in their 1st fish (and the excitement I felt when I caught mine). Thank you Capt. Dale for a treasured family memory!Show less
